Comcast to offer security home package (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Comcast Corp is addition of home security to its package of services for homes where he already provides cable television, broadband and phone.

The largest U.S. cable provider sees technology security and management technology of the home as another way to enter new markets and strengthen its relations with existing clients.

The new security package includes cameras, motion sensors, police and fire protection, and management functions of the House as the thermostat of distance and control of light that can be customized by the Subscriber. The service will cost approximately $39.99 per month, which the company said is competitive with existing security companies such as ADT, the market leader.

Comcast hopes to broadband integrated features that allow the client to manage the service on the same site Xfinity that they manage their video, broadband and telephone services, will give the cable company a competitive advantage in security specialists.

Head of Comcast of new businesses, Mitch Bowling, said the company will be initially not be updating Xfinity home security in its package of services, but it can do in the future.

Comcast is rolling the marketing and service in seven cities before going fully national.
