Disney to cut 200 jobs studio: source (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co will reduce approximately 200 positions to his unit of film studio, according to a person familiar with the case, it reduces the emphasis on the distribution of entertainment home of DVD.

Should cuts, forming just less than 5 percent of its workforce, will be announced internally next week, according to the person, who cannot be named because the decision was not made public.

The film studio has been realigning its distribution in the past 18 months and increases his intake of films from Marvel and Steven Spielberg DreamWorks Studios.

DVD sales fell to the United States last year as consumers more use on-demand by other digital outlets and cable TV services for watching movies at home.
