Comcast, NBCUniversal units are $ 750 million Fund (Reuters)

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Comcast Corp venture capital arm has completed its merger with Peacock Fund of NBCUniversal to form a new $ 750 million Fund, which highlights significant business media place on research of technologies rising to drive their business.

Comcast Interactive Media President Amy Banse will lead the combined entity, Comcast Ventures, which will focus on digital media, e-commerce and entertainment. Portfolio of the Fund represents Comcast $ 500 million and 250 million of the Peacock.

To Interactive Comcast Banse oversaw the acquisitions of the Fandango, a reservation daily movie-ticket and Candy Company, email-newsletter service. The Peacock Fund, launched in 2007, has invested in companies like Rubicon Project, an advertising technology company and Web site for medical Healthline.

Steps by entertainment companies established Venture investments are more frequent. Subsidiary of Steamboat Ventures Walt Disney Co capital risk, has raised $ 575 million across four funds since its launch in 2000.

The planned combination of the two funds announced last year. Comcast acquired control of NBCUniversal in January.
